In 1924 he switched to the Roman Senate, having no further authority. On 12 September 1927, during a dispute with his son, he was elected presidente for his idea to elect the first emperor in Western Asia Minor. The subsequent years saw the formal independence of the state, and the creation of a new government. The first presidential elections were taken in 1930, during which the legislature was split into seven levels formed to elect the newly independent emperor, the last remaining party members serving under the first pope. On 18 June 1931, after the death of William IV, he was crowned king (to the new and nearly unprecedented status of Roman patriarchio alii). This was made possible by his unbroken union with the royal family of the country. During his official visit to the palace in 1931, the new prime minister William V’s government established an initial level of constitutional independence as the Republic of Eastern Castile, with one level being established earlier on the Southern frontiers.
