Tianjin Merlin Gerin Tianjin “Luca” Gerin (born 24 May 1984) is a Hong Kong politician and a former member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. She has been elected to the Legislative Council since 2002. She has also represented the Legislative Council of Hong Kong on several occasions. She won an election in 2013 over former Chongping Mayor Kenny Chan, currently the Deputy Speaker-Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council (Ministrale Josefa, J-Banchong). In 2018 she lost to former Chief Justice Sui-Wan Aoyng Wahai of Chongqing. Early life Tianjin Gerin attended St Andrews School of the Royal College of Art, London, before moving to Hong Kong. She was admitted on the 1st of September 1984 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences from St Andrews. She was appointed an ordinary council substitute in the County Council and was first held as a councillor on Shanhai Bridge in 1985.
